Inception

for inspiration of the thriller theme i have been watching the film inception. Inception is about a skilled extractor who has been offered the chance to regain his old life as a payment for having to do something which is seen as impossible. the thing i like about this film is the special effects that are used in parts of the film, it is something that will not be able to be used in my sequence but it is something i really admire from the film,  the part in the film which really captivates me is when everything around Cobb and Ariadne starts blowing up around them. the special effects used in this is just mesmerizing and unforgettable.

Thriller

me and my partner have decided to do a thriller because even though the survey shows that comedy and horror were the highest responded to, we feel that doing them would mean that we wouldn't be capable of doing it to the high standard that we have set ourselves, whereas if we did thriller we believe we could do it to a very high standard.

Michael Jackson- Thriller

this music video is one of the most iconic videos of all time with the choreography of the dance moves and mise-en scene used in the video. the video starts with a sentence saying about how it does not go with his beliefs and then the title of the song and Michael Jacksons name fades onto the screen in a dark blood-like red. a tracking shot is then used to track the shiny car driving round a corner and suddenly running out of gas. it then has diagetic sound where Michael is talking to a girl while walking down a road. As the clouds clear he sees a full moon and changes appearance from a young man into a hairy grizzly werewolf, this is done by special effects and mise-en-scene. we know this due to the change in his appearance from being all cleanly shaved to becoming hairy and gruelling with his claws and hair all over his body. also the change of his eyes was used as he had white eyes to yellow eyes. this would change the emotion of the girl as she would now be petrified of Michael as he is completely different to what he first looked like. the mise-en-scene throughout the video was of the 1950s and the scenery was dark and gloomy. the shots used in the video was long shot, medium shot, close up and extreme close up, with there also being tracking shots, pan shots and eye level shots.

TKO- Justin Timberlake

the music video for Justin Timberlake's song TKO uses both diagetic and non-diagetic sound during it with the song going through the background of the video clip shown, this video showing what the song is about, which is about seeing someone you love with someone else and how it hurts seeing it.
I like this video because of the effects used in it, where the girl is driving the truck and Justin is tied up to the back being dragged across the floor. also the camera uses many different shots, them being tracking shots, crane shots and eye-level shots.
The shot zooms vary also with there being close ups, long shots and medium shots. these shot zooms can show you the emotion used in the shots and the detail used in the shots as well.

my film must include sound whether it is diagetic or non diagetic sound i will choose later on into the blog with my partners. diagetic sound is any sound presented as originated from source within the film. whereas non diagetic sound is like commentary, so it is telling you what is going on for example like a narrator. i have chosen 2 music videos in which use both diagetic and non-diagetic sound.

target audience

for my target audience i would like to appeal to females as my film would appeal to them more as it would be of a action/drama genre and also from . also when i was looking at films for my 3 title sequences the films i chose mostly related to drama as well which has influence in my choice of film genre. the female gender

from the votes average it shows that females under 18 have given high ratings for each movie i have chosen. the film must be able to relate to people lives as well this would make it more interesting for the viewer and the more relatable it is, the better the reviews would be.the film would also be more urban then any other target niche as it would be more relatable to what goes on in todays life. i would have my film limited to only UK cinemas as i feel it would relate more to their lifestyles than any other countries. the limitations to the film would be the budget which would effect advertisement of the film and also its a british film which will effect the opinion of the film before even watching it as people nowadays only want to watch blockbuster movies with the biggest stars and the big production companies behind it.
